Chief Dunnagan has been an Officer with the Lineville Police Department since 2005. Prior to Law Enforcement, Dunnagan attended the US Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC in January 1998. After serving 6 years with the 4th Battalion 14th Marine Regiment, Chief Dunnagan received an honorable discharge in 2005.
In June 2005, Dunnagan attended the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy (NEALEA), and graduated as a Squad Leader with the 135th Session. Chief Dunnagan began his Law Enforcement career with Anniston Police Department and transferred to Lineville Police Department the same year. As a Patrol Officer, Dunnagan has served as a Training Officer, became a Certified Chemical Agent OC Instructor in 2007 and a Certified Taser Instructor in 2008.
Chief Dunnagan moved to the position as Investigator in 2011. In May 2013 He was awarded Officer of the Year by the Exchange Club of Clay County. Dunnagan became Chief of Police upon the retirement of Monty Giddens in September 2016.
